It's been seven weeks since the November 3rd General Election and the race for the 22nd Congressional District is still unsettled at this time. There has been legal challenges since prior to Election Day and the race is in the hands of State Supreme Court Justice Scott Delconte.
The judge had ordered all 8 counties in the 22nd Congressional to recanvas ballots by December 21st and there remains hundreds of ballots counted and uncounted that are challenged and must be settled by the Court.
Justice Delconte put the case on hold for the holiday and it will reconvene on Monday, January 4th, which means the 22nd Congressional will be without Congressional representation for the beginning of the new year, once the new house is sworn in on January 1st, until the race is resolved through court ruling.
