Did you know that a 17-year-old can pre-register to vote in the calendar year of their 18th birthday in New York State? Yes, they can!

Once they complete their registration form, the Board of Elections will process it, and will automatically activate their registration on the voter's 18th birthday.

If you're running for a political office in Broome County, then you'll want to get a copy of the 2018 Running For Office Book.

The book gives you a rundown of offices up for election, what it takes to get on the ballot - signature requirements, campaign finance, and enrollment numbers. There are copies of needed forms and a list of people and party officials you may need to contact.

The Book is available in chapters or in a full pdf form on our website under the Candidate/Party page. Plus, you can get a physical copy at the Board of Elections Office, 2nd floor of 60 Hawley St, Binghamton, NY 13901.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. hover over "Home" and click the "Running For Office Book"

  2. Click on the Full Book or any Chapter/Page to see it.

  3. Zoom in or out using the + / - on the right side of the pages.
