While the majority of Broome County sat home Tuesday, awaiting a November

Congressional clash, between Claudia Tenney and Anthony Brindisi, the 19th and 23rd Congressional Districts had heated

primaries.

Antonio Delgado appears to have emerged the winner of a bruising 7-way Democratic Primary in NY's 19th Congressional District, which includes two election districts in the Town of Sanford in eastern Broome County.

Pat Ryan squeaked out a win among the districts within Broome, but Antonio Delgado edged Gareth Rhodes and Pat Ryan by more than 1,200 votes or 3-4% across the whole Congressional District.

On the western border of Broome County is the 23rd Congressional District, they saw a 5-way Democratic Primary with the top two going neck-and-neck. Max Della Pia leads Tracy Mitrano by a mere 26 votes with nearly 22,000 voters cast across the district. The absentee and affidavit ballots still need to be counted in that race.
