The Broome County Board of Elections commissioners will be holding a hearing for those petitions that have been challenged beginning on Tuesday, July 31st, at 9am.


The hearing is open to the public and will take place at the BOE Auditorium on the 2nd Floor of the Broome County Office Building, 60 Hawley St, Binghamton, NY.


The following petitions have had General Objections and Specifics filed against them to determine a sufficient or insufficient number of petition signatures to be on ballot.

  • Legislator 2nd Dist - IND Opportunity To Ballot Petitions

  • Union Supervisor - REP Designating Petitions - Dennis Ede

  • Union Supervisor - REP Designating Petitions - Kenneth DelBianco

  • Union Council - IND Petitions - Heather Staley

  • Union Council - IND Petitions - Robert Mack

  • Union Council - IND Petitions - Susan Bauman

UPDATE: The public hearing was recessed by the commissioners around noon and will reconvene at 9am Thursday.

It is Designating Petition Filing Week in New York State for those running with the endorsement of an officially recognized political party.


The Broome County Board of Elections is open 8am-5pm daily through Thursday's 5pm deadline.


Petitions for all offices wholly contained within Broome County can be filed in our office.

Today was Ballot Counting Day for the Federal Primary in the 7-way Democratic race in the 19th Congressional Districts.

Pat Ryan improved on his election day vote total and win among the voters of Broome.


However, Antonio Delgado edged Gareth Rhodes and Pat Ryan by 3-4% across the whole Congressional District.
