NYS SCHOOL ELECTION & BUDGET VOTE RESULTS

The New York State Budget Vote & School Election Day is Tuesday, May 19th. All public school districts touching Broome County will be having an election on that day.


UNOFFICIAL BUDGET VOTE & SCHOOL ELECTION RESULTS


Binghamton City School District

According to preliminary results posted on the district website, the 2026-27 school budget of $160,891,854 for Binghamton City School District passed by 509 to 156 votes.

  • Board candidates elected: Albert Penna Ed.D. and Amanda Jesenof.

  • Final results will be shared after the Board of Education certifies the vote during the May 20 board meeting.


Chenango Forks Central School District

The 2026-27 school budget proposal of $42,334,225 for Chenango Forks Central School District passed by 138 votes to 61.

  • The proposition to approve the purchase of two passenger buses for an estimated cost of $375,000 and the replacement of the HVAC units at the elementary school for $10,000 passed 146 votes to 55.

  • Board candidates elected: Tina Helper.


Chenango Valley Central School District

The 2026-27 school budget proposal of $52,990,052 for Chenango Valley Central School District passed by 289 votes to 71.

  • The proposition to approve the purchase of three passenger buses for the estimated cost of $650,000 passed by 274 votes to 86.

  • Board candidates elected: Lindsey Holocomb.


Johnson City Central School District 

The 2026-27 school budget proposal of $83,615,907 for Johnson City Central School District passed with 311 votes to 148.

  • The proposition to approve the purchase of three passenger diesel buses for an estimated total of $530,000 passed 307 votes to 153.

  • Board candidates elected: Amber Stallman ran unopposed for reelection, plus 28 write ins.


Maine-Endwell Central School District

The 2026-27 school budget proposal of $78,404,677 for Maine-Endwell Central School District passed by 568 votes to 130.

  • The proposition to approve purchase of five large school buses, one small bus and a car for the estimated cost of $1,100,000 passed by 560 votes to 142.

  • Board candidates elected: Kathleen Baker, Lindsey Stanton and Grant Lanterman.


Susquehanna Valley Central School District

The 2026-27 school budget proposal of $48,445,442 for Susquehanna Valley Central School District passed. On May 20, the official numbers for the Susquehanna Valley budget were still being verified by the board clerk.

  • The proposition to approve the purchase of one electric bus for the estimated cost of $569,630 did not pass.

  • The proposition to approve the purchase of one diesel passenger bus, two passenger buses and one used passenger bus all for the estimated cost of $650,750 passed.

  • Board candidates elected: Andrew Yezzi and Josh Luce.


Union-Endicott Central School District

The 2026-27 school budget proposal of $113,457,809 for Union-Endicott Central School District passed by 507 votes to 250.

  • The proposition to approve the purchase of six school buses for the estimated cost of $1,130,000 passed 597 votes to 259.

  • Board candidates elected: Ryan Dickinson, Richard Materese and Brian Watson.


Vestal Central School District 

The 2026-27 school budget proposal of $104,965,973 for the Vestal Central School District passed by 538 votes to 295.

  • The proposition to approve the purchase of five replacement HVAC units for Vestal High School for the estimated cost of $100,000 passed 533 votes to 299.

  • Board candidates elected: Christian Burdick, Elizabeth Fey and Joshgua Mertens.


Whitney Point Central School District

The 2026-27 school budget of $48,281,457 for Whitney Point Central School District passed by 198 to 57 votes.

  • The proposition to approve the purchase of four new buses for an estimated cost of $841,201 passed 195 votes to 58.

  • Board candidates elected: Aubrey Nawrocki, Thomas Tasber and Tyler Hust.


Windsor Central School District

The 2026-27 school budget of $56,329,470 for Windsor Central School District passed by 267 votes to 56.

  • Board candidates elected: Rhea Deyo and Tom Starley.
